June to October is the Hurricane season in the northern tropics and consequently the time when neither of the two charter scuba diving boats, the Nautilus Explorer and the Solmar V, are in the area and so no one is keeping a watchful eye out for illegal
fishermen. One patrol flight is estimated to cost US$2000. The goal is to fund 20 flights per season at a cost of US$40,000.
